WHAT'S THIS FOR?
The aim of PPD (134MC) is to get you to think about and reflect critically upon your first year at university. So, you will need to reflect on your progress and the decisions and choices that you make on the way and how these might affect your wider career, professional and personal aims and objectives. During the year, you will collect evidence and record your experiences both at and outside university. This will be recorded on an individual blog with links to evidence of things that you have created and evidence of moments, people and places that have inspired you. You will make the blog your own. You may put ANYTHING you like in it. From this blog, a Final Folio will be created. This will be assessed and will allow you to consider the following 3 factors.
1. How what you are including will help you in your future career plans.
2. How what you are including shows your ability to work with others, create, use resources, organise your time and network.
3. How you have used theory to understand your own and others’ practice.
Think of the blog’s purpose as being to record your development as a person and as someone who will enter the job market after the degree. It is here that you get credit for your wider involvement in groups, interest, paid work, learning to use software tools etc.
